Belchertown, Massachusetts Fiery Accident Leaves Woman Dead

May 17, 2012 - Ashley Goetz, 26, of Easthampton, Massachusetts, has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained in a single car accident. According to police, Goetz lost control of her vehicle, which then collided with a utility pole and burst into flames. The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Route 202 in Belchertown just north of Allen Road.

Goetz' vehicle was still on fire when authorities arrived at the scene, where she was pronounced dead. Goetz was originally from Eagan, Minnesota and relocated to Easthampton to pursue a masters degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She was also in the midst of writing two novels.

The cause of the accident is unknown and remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the Belchertown Police Department.

Salem, Massachusetts Accident Severely Injures One

May 9, 2012 - Michelle Rheaume, 29, of Salem, Massachusetts, has sustained serious personal injuries in a two car crash. Vincent Aleci, 61, from Haverhill, allegedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into Rheaume's car. The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Zachary's Crossing and Route 111 in Salem.

According to police, Rheaume was transported to Lawrence General Hospital and then transferred by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital, where she remains in life threatening condition. Aleci sustained minor scratches to his hands, but no other injuries.

Police have stated Aleci was at fault and charges are expected to be filed. However, they do no suspect that he was impaired. The accident remains under investigation by the Salem Police Department Technical Accident Reconstruction team.

Fall River, Massachusetts Three Car Accident on Route 24 Injures Two

May 4, 2012 - Arjens Marcial Santiago, 21, and a 19 year old Swansea resident sustained serious personal injuries while operating separate vehicles involved a three car accident. Randy Rauchle, 59, from Middletown, Rhode Island, was operating the third vehicle, but was not injured in the crash. The accident occurred on Route 24 southbound in Fall River near the President Avenue exit at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Santiago was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital in New Bedford. The unidentified Swansea resident was taken to Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River.

All lanes of traffic remained closed until approximately 4:15 p.m. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.

Hadley, Massachusetts Motorcycle Accident Kills One, Injures Two

April 18, 2012 - Daniel Haley, 24, from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained when his motorcycle was struck by a car traveling in the wrong direction on Route 116 in Hadley. Brittini Benton, 24, of Sunderland, was operating the vehicle that hit Haley's motorcycle. Jon Weeks, 57, from Leyden, was operating a second car, which was involved in the crash. The accident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday.

According to police, Benton was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Route 116 prior to the collision. Haley was pronounced dead at the scene. Benton and Weeks were also both injured in the accident. Benton was transported by a medical helicopter and Weeks was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Haley was a senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and was set to graduate in May.

No criminal charges have been filed as of Monday. The accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the Hadley Police Department.

Easton, Massachusetts Accident Leaves Norton Man Dead

April 12, 2012 - Eric Gryzboski, 36, of Norton, has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained in a single car accident. According to police, Gryzboski was traveling westbound on Foundry Street in Easton when he lost control of his vehicle and collided into a tree. The accident occurred at around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Members of the Easton Fire Department extricated Gryzboski from the vehicle. He was transported to Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, where he later died.

The Massachusetts State Police were the first to arrive on the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the State Police and the Easton Police Department.

Boxborough, Massachusetts Accident Leaves Lowell Teen Dead

March 27, 2012 - Nancy Kheam, 19, of Lowell, Massachusetts has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained as a passenger in a single car accident in Boxborough. Kurt Boyd, 21, from Westford, was the operator of the vehicle and Kayla Delisi, 22, from Salem, and Dana Kelley, 20, of Westford, were other passengers. The accident occurred at approximately 3:23 a.m. on Sunday on Interstate 495, prior to Route 2.

According to police, Boyd lost control of the vehicle causing it to collide with a guardrail. Kheam was pronounced dead at the scene. Delisi was transported to Emerson Hospital in Concord, where she was treated for her injuries. Boyd and Kelley were not injured in the crash.

According to reports, Kheam and Delisi were both sitting in the back seat and were not wearing seat belts. Both Boyd and Kelley were seated in the front of the vehicle and were wearing safety belts.

The accident remains under investigation.

Freetown, Massachusetts Accident on Route 24 Injures Two

March 6, 2012 - Harold Sisson III, 39, from Westport, Massachusetts, has sustained serious personal injuries when his tractor trailer rolled over on Route 24. An unidentified second driver was also injured in the accident. The crash occurred when Sisson was traveling southbound on Route 24 near exit 8 in Freetown.

According to police, Sisson lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over. The second driver's vehicle ended up in the woods and badly damaged. Sisson was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries. The other driver was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

Police are unsure what caused the accident and it remains under investigation.

Bridgewater, Massachusetts Crash Injures Kingston Teen

February 27, 2012 - Walker Smith, 16, from Kingston, Massachusetts, sustained serious personal injuries in a single car crash. Smith was operating his Jeep on Route 106 in Bridgewater when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with a tree on the opposite side of the road. The accident occurred at around 6:40 a.m. while Smith was traveling to Brockton High School.

Paramedics from the Bridgewater and East Bridgewater Fire Departments used using life saving tools to extract Smith from the vehicle. Smith was then transported by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is listed in good condition.

The accident remains under investigation.

North Adams, Massachusetts Accident Into Flood Chute Leaves 2 Men Dead

February 20, 2012 - Christopher Stanley, 28, of Clarksburg, Massachusetts, and Chad Miller, 31, from North Adams, have died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained in a single car crash. Stanley was operating an SUV, which was discovered by police overturned at the bottom of a flood control chute along Canal Street in North Adams. Miller was a passenger in the vehicle. The car was discovered at approximately 2:42 a.m. on Sunday.

According to police, the vehicle was heading west on Canal Street prior to the accident, but are unsure what caused the crash or how long the vehicle was in the flood chute before it was discovered. According to the Hoosic River Revival Coalition, typical flood chutes in the town are 12 feet deep and 45 feet wide.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The North Adams Fire Department and North Adams Ambulance Service were among the responding rescue personnel. The accident remains under investigation by the North Adams Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.

New Bedford, Massachusetts Car Accident Leaves Teen Dead

January 29, 2012 - Andrew McCann, 17, from New Bedford, Massachusetts, has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained as a passenger in a single car accident. Julian Reis, 19, was driving the vehicle and Jarrell Ervin was another passenger. According to police, Reis lost control of the vehicle and rolled it over onto the median near exit 4 on Route 140 northbound in New Bedford. McCann was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The accident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.

All three men were students at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, where McCann starred in football and baseball. McCann was transported to a hospital, where he later died. Both Reis and Ervin were treated at Rhode Island Hospital and released with minor injuries.

No charges have been filed against Reis at this time. The accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.

Yarmouth, Massachusetts Teen Dies After Being Struck by Van

January 13, 2011 - Chelsi Varney, 18, from Yarmouth, Massachusetts, has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained when she was struck by a minivan. Brian Gardiner, also of Yarmouth, was operating the vehicle eastbound on Buck Island Road prior to striking Varney, who was walking northbound on West Yarmouth Road. The accident occurred at around 6:15 p.m. on Monday.

Yarmouth emergency medical personnel treated Varney at the scene. She was then transported by a medical helicopter to Boston Medical Center, where she eventually died. Varney was a senior at Dennis-Yarmouth High School, where she excelled academically.

No charges have been filed against Gardiner and the accident remains under investigation by the Yarmouth Police Department.

Shrewsbury, Massachusetts Head On Collision Causes One Fatality

December 23, 2011 - Elena Fedoseev, 49, from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, has died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained in head on collision. Levi Alves, 48, of Marlborough, was driving the other vehicle and was also injured. The accident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday on Main Street in Shrewsbury.

According to the Shrewsbury Police Department, Fedoseev's vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with Alves' truck. Fedoseev was transported by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where she was pronounced dead. Alves was also taken to UMass and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

This accident was one of three that occurred along a one mile stretch of Main Street on Wednesday night. The Shrewsbury Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

Bellingham, Massachusetts Crash Kills One, Injures Another

December 14, 2011 - Robert Kaczor, 63, of Blackstone, Massachusetts, had died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained in a head on car crash. Joshua Campos, 20, from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, allegedly lost control of his vehicle and collided head on with Kaczor's car. The accident occurred on South Main Street in Bellingham on Monday at around 5:00 p.m.

Kaczor was taken by ambulance to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later that evening. Campos was transported by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are unsure if speed or alcohol were factors and the accident remains under investigation by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Reconstruction Team. The Franklin Police Department and Mendon Police Department assisted at the scene.

Northampton, Massachusetts Accident on Icy Road Kills Two Women

October 28, 2011 - Gwen Pearsall, 49, of Deering, New Hampshire, and Arlene Krilovich, 66, of Hillsborough, New Hampshire, have died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident. The accident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. Friday Morning along Interstate 91 Northbound near Exit 19 in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. According to a witness, the women were driving a pickup truck and allegedly lost control of the vehicle after passing him. The truck then traveled into the left side guardrail and then flipped end-over-end.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, the roads were icy at the time of the crash and the conditions as well as speed were contributing factors to the crash. The accident remains under investigation.

Worcester, Massachusetts: Man Arraigned in Hospital for Accident that Leaves Two Dead and Another Injured

October 12, 2011 - Andres Guzman, 18, and Joel Rodriguez, 19, both from Worcester, Massachusetts, have died as a result of serious personal injuries sustained when Guzman's parked car was struck by another vehicle. Jesus Molina, 19, also of Worcester and a passenger in Guzman's vehicle, was seriously injured. Robert Curran, 22, from Grafton, was operating the vehicle that crashed into Guzman's car. The accident occurred at about 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Guzman's car was parked at the corner of Chandler and Piedmont Streets when Curran's vehicle allegedly smashed into it. Witnesses claim that Curran's car was traveling between 80 and 100 miles per hour.

According to police, Guzman and Rodriguez were pronounced dead at the scene. Molina was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he remains in critical condition. Curran was also injured in the crash and was first taken to Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard in Webster and then transferred to UMass Memorial.

According to police, Curran left the scene of the accident after briefly speaking with paramedics. Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicle records showed that Curran's license was suspended at the time of the accident and he had four speeding tickets in the last three years.

On Tuesday, Curran was arraigned in his hospital room at UMass Memorial. He was charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing death, and several other crimes. Curran pleaded not guilty to all crimes. He was released on $20,000 bail.

The accident remains under investigation.
