Forbes said he is worried about the trauma that has been inflicted on his young son as a result of this dog attack and what the consequences of that trauma might be in the years to come. The 8-year-old Dutch Shepherd that bit the boy has been in the department for seven years but will be taken off patrol and will be evaluated by the officer who handles him, police officials said.

In a recent study, the IIHS noted that pickup trucks and SUVs with tall flat fronts and high hoods are more dangerous for pedestrians compared to compact vehicles. Tall front ends increase this danger. For medium-height vehicles, blunt-shaped front ends increase the risk while a higher point of impact can prove dangerous for bicyclists. However, these characteristics are not unique to Cybertrucks. Pickup trucks manufactured by Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Ram, and other automakers also have the potential to be deadly to pedestrians. EV trucks, in particular, are even deadlier because of the added weight of their batteries.

While NHTSA and IIHS have yet to weigh in on these trucks, Tesla has conducted its own crash tests in-house. The Incident: A Head-on Car Accident Ends in Tragedy

Rushil Barri, 28, was driving several of his family members back from a visit to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in a Honda Odyssey minivan at the time of the accident. But while they were driving from Glen Rose back to their home in Irving, their vehicle was struck by an oncoming truck.

A Chevrolet pickup truck had moved into the northbound lane of the U.S. 67, traveling the wrong way along the highway. The Chevrolet, which was being driven by a 17-year-old male and had another 17-year-old in the passenger seat, crashed head-on into the Honda.

Victims of the Crash

At the time of the impact, the passengers in the Odyssey minivan included Rushil Barri’s cousin, his cousin’s wife, the two children, and their in-laws, who were all visiting from their homes in Alpharetta, Georgia. The crash claimed the lives of Barri and five of the passengers, including the two children. The deceased children were identified as Krithik Potabathula, 10, and Nishidha Potabathula, 9.

Only one of the passengers survived, identified by officials as a 43-year-old man. The survivor sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Both of the teenage occupants in the Chevrolet pickup truck also sustained critical injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
