Huntington Beach police officials say the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue when a 1990 Acura driven by an 84-year-old man struck the woman. The pedestrian accident victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Currently, truckers are required to keep logs of drive and sleep time. The logs most often are hand written and can easily be misleading. Enforcement of California Vehicle Code 21702 is mostly based on the honor system, but installation of electronic recording devices would change this. The Press Enterprise reports that the Nissan drifted into opposing lanes of traffic on Bundy Canyon Road in Wildomar. The driver then over-corrected, causing the car to skid and go into the path of an oncoming Toyota Yaris. The force of the collision apparently split the Nissan at its driver side door post, killing the female driver and injuring two people in the Yaris. One of the injured passengers of the Yaris sustained multiple broken bones.
