The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will be a holding a free Korean language community event in Queens, NY and via Teleconference on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 between 7:30 to 9:00pm (EST). The subject of the event will be on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and will include updates and a Q&A. DACA is a memorandum signed by President Obama directing U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to practice prosecutorial discretion towards some individuals who immigrated to the United States as children and are currently in this country illegally. They are also eligible for work authorization, but deferred action is not a lawful status nor does it lead to a lawful permanent status.
