Motorcyclist Killed in Brandon Collision

by

A 33-year-old Plant City motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Brandon early Tuesday.

The motorcyclist lost control of his Yamaha around 3:15 a.m. while making a right turn from E Adamo Drive onto northbound U.S. 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle hit the raised center median, overturned and came to rest in the path of a northbound Toyota Camry.

The car then crashed into the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died.

There was a passenger on the bike, an 18-year-old Riverview woman, who was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Camry was not injured.

No further information is available at this time regarding the accident.

Motorcycle accidents are usually more traumatic than most other types of vehicle accidents. Motorcycle accidents often involve serious injuries that can be personally and financially devastating. Despite the many stereotypes against bikers, most accidents involving motorcycles are not the motorcyclist’s fault. In many cases, motorcycle accidents are the fault of careless automobile drivers.

Many injury attorneys are reluctant to take on cases involving injured motorcyclists or the family members of those killed in motorcycle collisions due to the common misperception that motorcycles are unsafe. While motorcycle accident cases can be difficult to pursue, a Tampa Bay Motorcycle Accident Lawyer at Whittel & Melton can guide you through the process of recovering the financial compensation you are owed.
